DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
The bookkeeper's function is to assist the Accounting Director with daily tasks, including data entry, etc.
in order to maintain the integrity of the accounting system of Good Shepherd Home.
II.
RESPONSIBLE TO THE ACCOUNTING DIRECTOR III.
DUTIES 1.
) Maintain Accounts Payable System.
Date entry of all invoices, vouchers, etc.
for payment.
Assure coding to proper accounts and allocations subject to review by the Accounting Director.
Process checks and close month end into General Ledger.
Process 1099's at year end.
2.
) Back up front desk duties as required (answering phone, covering breaks and lunches, etc.
) 3.
) Maintain Resident Spending Accounts.
Writing up deposits, writing checks as necessary.
Balance account monthly and run quarterly statements.
4.
) Maintain and balance petty cash and lunch drawer.
5.
) Write up deposits and take to the bank.
Posting of deposits is completed by Accounting Director.
6.
) Oversee purchasing program including issuance of purchase order numbers per Good Shepherd Home Budget.
7.
) Greet others in a friendly manner with a Christ-like demeanor.
8.
) Provide positive, noteworthy customer service.
9.
) Exceed resident and family expectations.
10.
) Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS 1.
) Prefer an Associate's Degree in Accounting/Computers or equivalent work experience.
2.
) Attention to detail.
3.
) Ability to maintain confidentiality.
4.
) High energy-keeps busy, self-starter.
5.
) Works well with people - front desk duties.
6.
) Team player.
