We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Income Tax/Accounting Clerk to join our team.
As an Income Tax/Accounting Clerk, you will be responsible for assisting with various financial tasks.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and possess excellent analytical skills.
Duties:
-Responsible for the City of Fostoria municipal income tax collection recording -Serves as a primary liaison between the City of Fostoria and RITA -Records monthly RITA activities -Collects and processes Fostoria's city income tax returns/payments -Handles City bank deposits, balances, and drawer daily -Assists businesses with withholding tax questions -Forwards payment and necessary documnets to RITA when applicable -Prepares and makes readily available all tax forms associated with Fostoria city income tax -Attends the appropriate trainings and conferences related to the position -Serves as primary accounts payable clerk -Provides and prepares reports for finance, public requests, council, and the City Auditor -Assists the public with income tax questions and concerns Skills:
-Ability to use standard office equipment and software -Data entry -Attention to detail -General math skills -Time management -Data collection and reporting -Understand and apply municipal income tax laws, rules, and regulations
Qualifications:
-Completion of high school education -2-year accounting/business admin degree preferred -2 years' experience in governmental accounting department, or other related experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience Job Type:
